Founded in Hungary in 2019, Intech Studio develops open-source hardware and software tools designed to give digital creators a more immediate, tactile connection to their work. Its flagship Grid platform replaces one-size-fits-all control surfaces with compact modules that can be combined and rearranged around the way each user creates.

A control surface that grows with the workflow

Grid modules connect magnetically, allowing creators to build a personalized surface from buttons, potentiometers, endless encoders, faders, jog controls, and display-equipped modules. A setup can begin with a single controller and expand as the workflow changes, without requiring a dedicated central module.

The system is equally at home beside a laptop, in a project studio, inside a live-performance rig, or at an editing workstation. One USB-C connection can power and connect multiple Grid modules, keeping the footprint compact and the cabling manageable.

Built for music and much more

For musicians and producers, Grid can put essential DAW, plug-in, mixer, synthesizer, clip-launching, and automation controls directly under the fingertips. Its modular design lets users prioritize the controls they need: banks of encoders for sound design, buttons for triggering and navigation, faders for mixing, or a combination built around a specific performance setup.

Grid also reaches beyond traditional MIDI control. Modules can be configured to send MIDI, keyboard, mouse, and gamepad commands, opening up tactile workflows for video editing, photography, livestreaming, visual performance, and other creative applications.

Deep customization without losing immediacy

The free, open-source Grid Editor gives users a visual way to assign controls and build configurations, while Lua scripting supports more advanced behavior. Four onboard configuration pages can be stored on the hardware and recalled without reopening the Editor, making it easier to move between applications, sessions, and performance roles.

Grid supports macOS, Windows, Linux, and mobile platforms. Because configurations live with the controller, users can take a carefully built setup from one workspace to another with less friction.
