Dekoni’s latest project has brought forth the Cobalt – a high end dynamic driver closed-back made in partnership with Hifiman. Made with their latest driver technology and masterfully tuned by our own engineer, the Cobalt is the culmination of everything that makes listening great. The Cobalt driver makes use of a carbon-coated diaphragm, engineering in such a way that the carbon coating can be placed anywhere on the driver. This allows for an incredible level of fine-tuning of the driver, and gave us the perfect starting point to build the rest of the headphone around. During our testing, we experimented with placing different materials behind the driver in the earcup – the results showed the headphone responding strongly to any changes, and trended towards a decrease in soundstage in exchange for a deeper bass response. We also made use of the thick padded headband offered to us by Hifiman – ensuring an even amount of pressure across your head. Last to be created was our specialty – the earpads. We experimented with multiple styles using our Elite Series materials and high density memory foam, and had each style tested by our team. In the end we decided on the Fenestrated Sheepskin pads – the combination of comfort, breathability and resulting sound was the winner for the team. Of course, we didn’t stop there – our engineer also created a unique set of Elite Velour pads, offering further enhanced comfort and an alternate tuning more to his preference. These Elite Velour pads will be included with the first 1000 units of the Cobalt – giving you the full Dekoni experience.

Designs that may use new combinations of our materials, custom foams and more fall neatly into the Custom lineup. Dekoni Choice Suede is a soft, supple synthetic suede. Its sheen velour look and incredibly gentle feel on the skin is constantly mistaken for real suede.
With incredible durability and unmatched comfort, you may find you like it even more than our Elite Velour models. Dekoni Choice Suede uses the same ultra slow rebound memory foam from the Elite series.
Dekoni Choice Hybrid is a combination of soft, supple synthetic suede and synthetic leather. Its sheen velour and leather looks and feels incredibly gentle on the skin.

Coming in at roughly 2oz, it’s hard to find a lighter solution to those who want maximum portability with exceptional sound than the Koss Porta Pros. That said, the stock foam can wear out quickly and easily collects dust, which may leave you longing for a way to replace them. After years of development, the Grado pads are now available in three styles which make up the first entries in the brand new Custom Series. Meant to host pads that feature unique design choices that place them outside of our usual Elite or Choice series, the Custom series is where you’ll see the design and testing philosophy of Dekoni shine bright.
All three styles of grado pads use a fast rebounding foam to help the pad maintain its shape and provide ample padding for your ears, with the velour inner face gently caresses the side of your head to maximize comfort.
The outer face of the pad uses either solid sheepskin, fenestrated sheepskin or velour for a variety of tuning options.
